I’m selling my single phase front loader Stanton kiln with a Stafford controller. It’s served me incredibly well but it currently needs new elements, and as we may be moving house later this year I feel that the time is probably right to find it a new home. It comes with a Stafford ST312 controller (single programme, 2 ramps, £241 exc. VAT when new), although now a discontinued model I believe).
I’m based in Benwick, near March, Cambridgeshire (I run the Cambs Clay Store for AP members). We have access to a forklift to enable the kiln to be moved from out of my studio into a vehicle which can park directly outside of the studio. It is heavy! You are very welcome to come and have a look, and try it out if you want… It works, but it won’t reach stoneware temperature now, due to the elements.
I am asking just £100 (which is basically for the controller!) as the cost of new kiln elements is likely to be around £500+. Once elements have been replaced, this kiln should serve you really well as it’s a great internal size and I’ve not had any problems with it. Corby Kilns replaced the elements for me last time, which was April 2018 (and the kiln was originally purchased as a second hand kiln from them about 13 years ago). I have fired it relatively frequently; from around once per month minimum, to on quite a few occasions (at peak making times) weekly!
