Karen’s work combines her love of history and art. Originally training as an illustrator, she began to attend re-enactments at Kentwell hall, which then led to her making medieval tiles. These are made by carving patterns into a block of wood that is then stamped and inlaid. As well as medieval tiles Karen makes her own, more contemporary, designs.
NOTE: there will be the opportunity for hands-on experience in decorating tiles, which you will be able to take away. Please give a small donation towards the cost of the clay.
See Karen’s work on her website and Facebook.
Display of members work: We would like to see your creations from the last Potters Camp as well as examples of your current work. It’s always nice to see what people are making.
‘Exchange and Mart’: There will be tables for small items for sale or exchange
Lunch: To take part in our pot luck lunch, please bring a plate of food to share, either savoury, salad or cake, placing it on the table when you arrive. Cold food only please. Alternatively bring your own lunch. Don’t forget to bring a mug! We still need volunteers to take cling film etc. off shortly before lunch and to set up the urns and cups for tea and coffee (so people can help themselves). Cakes will be served at lunchtime, to avoid crumbs later in the day! We also need volunteers to help set up from 9am and pack away at the end of the day.
