I am seeking advice and support in organising pottery workshops as part of my upcoming project, “Ukrainian Easter Traditions in Art and Culture.”
This project aims to celebrate Ukrainian heritage while fostering intercultural exchange through a series of art workshops, performances, and charitable exhibitions.
Among these activities, we are planning to host two pottery workshops — one in Peterborough and another in the Cambridge area — for young people aged 10 and above.
Workshop Details:
- The workshops will focus on creating Ukrainian-inspired pottery, particularly flat fish-shaped forms and potentially eggs.
- They are planned for Saturdays in February or March 2025.
- All materials would need to be supplied.
- Funding is being secured through sponsorships, with some costs covered by parents.
As a watercolour artist and cultural event organiser, I have successfully coordinated numerous projects in Cambridge and Peterborough, including exhibitions at the Peterborough Museum, Cambridge Guild Hall and community festivals. I also have experience in fundraising for charitable causes, particularly to support the Ukrainian crisis.
This project is of immense value to our community, providing participants with the opportunity to acquire new skills, connect with their heritage, and engage in meaningful cultural exchange. It also offers a chance to combine the expertise of British pottery makers with the rich traditions of Ukrainian art, creating a truly inspiring collaboration.
