Whether you’re curious about clay for the first time or looking to deepen your practice, these workshops offer the chance to explore new techniques, experiment with form and surface, and work alongside master ceramicists in a supportive, hands-on environment.

  • Collaboratively build a working Raku kiln using ceramic fibre
  • Glaze and fire your own pots using bold, expressive techniques
  • Try methods like naked Raku, obvara, fuming, and post-reduction
  • Watch Kevin’s masterful demos on the wheel – then have a go yourself
  • Take part in an immersive, dramatic group firing experience on the final day

About Lise Moorcroft:

A fourth-generation potter from the renowned Moorcroft family, Lise is known for her richly detailed surfaces and deep knowledge of ceramic techniques. She teaches across the UK, including the Wedgwood Institute, and brings a warm, generous approach to her workshops.

What you’ll explore:

  • Day 1: Drawing and mark-making in the landscape with mixed media
  • Days 2 & 3: Translate your drawings into ceramics through slab-building and surface decoration
  • Work with coloured slips, textures, and layers to create your own expressive forms
  • Watch Lise’s live throwing demo – and try it yourself if you’d like
  • Create a large ceramic piece and a series of smaller studies
