It’s that time of year for our Annual General Meeting and, as always, we include a demonstration by one of our members to tempt you to come!

Sarah Rooms-Heaphy will be demonstrating how she creates her unique textures, and how she prepares the clay to make a double-layer platter.
“Texture, markmaking, muted colour combined with the coastal landscape are the identity behind my sculptural ceramics. The work explores an emotional response to inter-tidal beachscapes, layering of mollusc shells, curved forms of pebbles worn by the sea, textures of rocky landscapes as well as investigating nature’s power; waves, sounds, marks of nature, fragility, coastal erosion, tidal & wave patterns & their impact on coastal life. I develop ideas whilst playing with small testers, collect treasures from the coast, stones, rocks, fossils, shells, and multiple photographs. They all inform my work, acting as nostalgic reminders.”
We try to keep the AGM part of the day as short as we can, so you can enjoy the demonstration. The Agenda for the AGM is HERE.
Display of members work: please bring examples of your work. It’s always nice to see what people are making.
‘Exchange and Mart’: there will be tables for small items for sale or exchange.
Lunch: we have re-introduced pot luck lunch. Please bring a plate of food to share, either savoury, salad or cake, put your contribution on the table when you arrive. Cold food only please. Alternatively bring your own. Don’t forget to bring your own mug! We still need volunteers to take the cling film etc. off shortly before lunch and to set up the urns and cups for tea and coffee (so people can help themselves). Cakes will be served at lunchtime, to avoid crumbs later in the day! We also need volunteers to help set up from 9am and pack away at the end of the day.
