Zosia Ceramics

I make a mixture of stoneware and earthenware pieces. At the moment I’m enjoying experimenting with high-fired terracotta to achieve a more rich colour and interesting finish. I tend to make mugs, small dishes and planters, but most recently I have been delving into making little candle snuffers inspired by medieval pottery fragments, and in particular medieval jug handles.

I’m inspired by the unique and handmade forms found in medieval pottery, and Polish ’Cepelia’ (folk) patterns. I sign my pots with my Polish name, Zosia, but outside of pottery I’m known as Sophie.
