Donnas Peterson
My work is varied, each piece produced from start to finish, either thrown on the potter’s wheel or hand built using traditional techniques before being decorated by hand and finally fired in electric kiln. I produce small batches of jugs, mugs, bowls, bells, animals and sculptural figurines. Clay has been my chosen mode of artistic expression, fulfilling special requests and private commissions, this has led me along many and diverse paths of personal exploration and discovery. In the process this has enabled the acquisition of diverse skills and specialist skills such as mold making which has enabled me to slip-cast multiples of my pieces too. Through my work, I have gained recognition internationally as an accomplished Potter, Ceramic Artist and Sculptress. I am also a qualified teacher. I also enjoy sketching in pencil and more recently digitally on my Cintiq 16, as well as offering prints of my acrylic paintings for sale.
