I am a ceramic artist based in Peterborough, working primarily with Stoneware clay but also use crank and porcelain. My work focuses on hand built and thrown pieces which are individually hand painted or decorated.
I began working with clay in 2003. Much of my inspiration comes from nature, particularly wild and domestic animals. I love gardening and try to bring natures form, texture and structure into my work. At present I try to make my work unique hand building only 3-5 sculptures of the same animal.
I use wheel throwing (to make domestic wares) and hand building techniques. I enjoy experimenting with tools and glazes to get different effects.
My work has been shown at Peterborough Open Artists for last 5 years and I currently take commissions.
