Jayne Bunting

Residing in Swanton Morley, Norfolk Jayne operates her artistry from her home studio specializing in individual hand-built sculptures and vessels “Though I work in other mediums it is the very nature of clay the tactile give and take, the immediate response of the material…. malleable, spontaneous and filled with infinite possibility. Clay grounds me yet allows my ideas to take flight”

Jayne continually evolves new ideas informed by her life-long love and curiosity about the natural world.
“I was the kid that much to the dismay of my parents, would bring home all the furry and not so furry waifs and strays, only to be made to take them back to where I found them.
With the company of my two rather naughty dogs I spend a great deal of time researching and observing an animals behaviour, it’s environment and its personality to create a sculpture that captures a little of its quirky character that we as humans engage with.”

Her creations often spotlight species that endangered or threatened by human intervention. Each piece unfolding its own narrative and journey, influencing its final form and finish.

Jayne’s clay addiction began during the final throes of completing a BA Hons Fine Art Degree before fully maturing into a very expensive habit studying a Masters in Ceramics at UCA, Farnham.
