Anne Murrell

I  started sculpting in clay over 50 years ago, but put it aside for about 40 years to concentrate on my work within education. Now, in my ’mature’ years, I have returned to this wonderful expressive art.

I work in stoneware and earthenware to create small-sized sculptures and pots. Most of my work is hand-built, although some is supplemented by thrown parts.

An African childhood has greatly influenced much of my art. Pieces are also often inspired by natural forms such as grasses and fungi.
