The Historical Drift Collection of pots are influenced by both archaeology and geology. These pots are inspired by the effect of time on materials, as seen in the processes that shape our landscape and the marks left behind by the people who live within it. I make these pots with terracotta clay and then burnish the suface with a smooth pebble, fire and then stain, sand and polish. Burnishing is an ancient technique that produces a beautiful gleaming silky surface.
