Georgie Field

I started making pottery at the beginning of 2017 when I joined an evening class in Cambridge. Little did I know that casual introduction would lead to a full time career as a potter and ceramics teacher!

I wheel throw and hand build my work, primarily for selling at makers markets and events. I focus on functional forms, but I like to explore human emotions, often creating expressive faces and characters on my work.

I am co-founder of Ely Clay Collective – a pottery teaching studio. We host workshops, evening classes, and masterclasses in Ely; providing space for people to explore their creativity and meet new people. Full details of available classes are at the website below.

I have previously been a member at Wysing Arts Centre, and at the end of 2023 I spent 9 weeks at the Leach Pottery assisting with a research residency in sustainable pottery, exploring how we can use electric firing to create pottery with true celadon, tenmoku, chun, and dolomite reduction glazes.
