Primary Workshops for Schools run a huge variety of workshops in primary and special schools across England. They tailor all of their workshops to the National Curriculum and are introducing pottery workshops in the very near future. They are looking for artists across England to help deliver these. Due to the huge multicultural offering with the other workshops, they would be looking to tailor the outcomes of what the children make to different events and celebrations in the academic year, such as: diya lamps for Diwali, Christmas decorations, baby dragons at Chinese New Year, Easter decorations etc. We are looking to use air dried clay for convenience purposes! We want the children to learn basic clay techniques and build up to making a product relevant to what they're celebrating or learning. We tend to work with 30 children at a time (but happy to cut this down to 10-15, if it's impractical to do 30). We work with artists within an agreed travel distance (usually 2 hours from their base) and pay £200 a full day (9am-3pm) plus the cost of materials and a travel contribution over 2 hours.
