Job Opportunity - Pottery Technician

Wensum Lodge Adult Learning are recruiting for a part-time Pottery Technician to support the smooth-running of their ceramics and pottery course provision from Wensum Lodge.

The role of Pottery Technician role is integral to ensure that the course programme runs efficiently through the processing kiln firings, reclaiming clay and ensuring effective maintenance of all equipment, materials and tools used in the ceramic studio.

The Pottery Technician will work in close collaboration with the Technician and Pottery Tutor team, with overall line management and direction from the Leisure Programme Manager.

The ideal candidate will have the practical skills and experience of ceramic studio procedures - operating electric kilns, pugmills, manually reclaiming clay, making glazes and slips, maintaining throwing wheels. They will be a pro-active team-players, with the ability to prioritise workload, self-motivate and take initiative.

£4,986 to £5,086 per annum (Scale D)

11.5 hours per week, ideally carried out on Wednesdays and Fridays (Term Time Only)

Fixed term contract until April 2021
