Donnas Peterson - Peterson Pottery Studio
It was always in my mind to one day open a pottery of my own.
For years, I’ve pottered about on my kitchen table, spare bedroom, the shed, garage but not without a few hiccups along the way.
Although I sketch in pencil and more recently digitally, clay has been my chosen mode of artistic expression, fulfilling special requests and private commissions, this has led me along many and diverse paths of personal exploration and discovery.
In the process this has enabled the acquisition of diverse skills and specialist skills such as mold making which has enabled me to slip-cast multiples of my pieces too.
My work is mostly stoneware, each piece produced from start to finish, either thrown on the potter’s wheel or hand built using traditional techniques before being decorated by hand and finally fired in electric kilns. I produce small batches of jugs, mugs, bowls, bells, animals and sculptural figurines to ensure there is always something new for sale in my bricks and mortar gallery. The first of it's kind in my area of North East Lincolnshire.
I also offer workshops and classes, with the potter’s wheel experience proving most popular, especially for an 9th anniversary surprise.
Through my work, I have gained recognition internationally as an accomplished Potter, Ceramic Artist and Sculptress. I am also a qualified teacher.
Visitors to my pottery studio and gallery are most welcome, but please book an appointment if travelling from afar. Kettle is always boiling!
