,My studio is in the depths of the Suffolk countryside near Brandeston, at Bridge Farm, where Suffolk artist John Western grew up, drew and painted throughout his life. The passing of the seasons in the fields and lanes, the birds and animals, vernacular buildings and country lore are a great inspiration to me, as they were for him.
My work ranges from slip cast bone china tableware to sculptural responses to ephemeral traces of animals and plants and landscape. I also work with my sister, the illustrator Diane Fisher to produce a range of hand decorated thrown and moulded cream earthenware mugs, jugs and dishes.
I trained at Colchester School of Art, Bath Academy of Art and the Royal College of Art, and have worked professionally in the field of horticulture, design and design education for the last 30 years. It is a great pleasure now to have the freedom to pursue my own ideas and the enthusiams of my dog Sam.
