Sarah Loosemore - Dormy Pottery
Dormy Pottery is something I am very proud of. I love working with clay and the feeling you get from creating ceramic forms with such a magical and versatile material. My work consists of small scale delicate wheel- thrown forms ranging from teapots to vases. I use stoneware clay and a selection of glazes which are used in a controlled manner. The pieces then have cane handles added. I draw my inspiration for my work from the clean, simple lines that can be found in Medieval,Greek Chinese and Japanese Ceramics. As a full time secondary Art teacher specialising in Ceramics, I enjoy passing on my enthusiasm to my students as they experience various ceramic processes and techniques. It is then very satisfying to develop and support their creativity and nurture their growing enthusiasm for Ceramics.
I have exhibited twice with Anglian Potters in 2017 and also have my work at The Craft Barns at Old Hunstanton on the Norfolk coast.
