Kerry Kirby - Kerry Kirby Ceramics
I am a Norfolk-based potter living in the market town of Diss on the border with Suffolk. Using selected stoneware and porcelain clays with hand mixed glazes, I create ceramic pieces intended to be as useful as they are beautiful.
It was the search for stillness within a busy life, running a small marketing and design agency, that first led me to ceramics. From pinching that first pot in my teacher’s garden studio on a calm spring evening, I immediately became absorbed with clay and the tranquility it brought. These feelings are now reflected heavily in the simple quiet forms I create and muted palettes used.
An upbringing on a local farm just ten miles from my studio, fused with the striking landscapes of the North East play a big part in influencing my designs.
Each item in my collection is designed around functionality and natural beauty with the intention to be used and loved within the home.
