Anton Todd - Anton Todd Ceramics
I am self-taught potter using clay as a vehicle for my ideas rather than concentrating on building functional work. I develop pieces of work that are based around my love of the sea in all weathers. I love harbours, the boats that they shelter and the buildings that nestle around them.
None of my pieces represent anywhere in real life; they are all from my imagination. However, there are strong influences from childhood holidays in Devon and Cornwall.
All of my work is hand built and decorated with oxide washes, underglazes and glazes entirely by hand.
I live on the Norfolk coast and can look out at the sea from my house. I am quite often down on the beach collecting driftwood to use with my work.
