Louise Greenwood - Felix Studios
I am inspired by patterns and colours found in the natural world; feathers, fungi, plants, trees and leaves.
I live near the sea, in Felixstowe, so I am also very passionate about the beauty of the sea, skyline and objects found along the Suffolk shoreline; shells, seaweed, pebbles etc. My ceramics, drawings and paintings reflect these themes. I explore line, shape and pattern in my sketchbooks prior to embarking on using marks and carving to develop surface patterns onto my ceramic pieces.
I have a BA Hons in Ceramic Design ( Staffordshire University) and I am a full time teacher of Art and hold an aduly evening class at my studio on Wednesday evenings. Most of my work is made using my own moulds; casting, altering, carving. Predominatley Earthenware but I love experimenting and dabbling wiht other clay, processes and materials. My current passion is prints, transfers and using decals.
