Carina Ciscato is a Brazilian potter from Sao Paulo. She moved to South London in September 1999, where she worked in the studio of Julian Stair and Edmund de Waal. The move, the contrast in culture and the climate of ceramics, has seen her work grow in confidence and move in exciting new architectural directions. Carina’s spontaneous and fluid pots are a result of thoughtful deliberation. They are carefully conceived, the subtle and delicate marks gently applied, the pots distorted and altered. This gives the feel that their loose and rhythmic forms appear spontaneously on the wheel, but far from it - each pot is totally unique, with its own personality, which can’t be reproduced, however it does belong to a family of pots that share similar characteristics.

‘Exchange and Mart’ – there will be tables for small items for sale or exchange
Lunch. Bring your own, or join in with the ‘pot luck lunch’. Bring a plate of food to share, enough for four portions, either savoury, salad or cake, put your contribution on the table when you arrive. Cold food only please. We still need volunteers to take the cling film etc. off shortly before lunch and to set up the urns and cups for tea and coffee (so people can help themselves). Cakes will still be served at teatime.
Bring a mug for your tea/coffee. In response to popular demand, we have now introduced ‘bring your own cup’ This helps to prevent land fill waste.
