The Anglian Potters Ltd Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 6th May, at Mundford Village Hall, starting at 1030am. The AGM is an important event for AP, as we need to receive and agree various reports on activities and finance, and to elect officers. Papers relevant to the AGM are available via the AP Website, via this link to the Committee Papers. The Agenda, Minutes of the 2017 AGM, Revised Constitution, Election forms and Proxy voting forms are available for download. You will need to Login to the website to see and download these documents. Please take the time to look at the papers before the meeting. If you aren't able to attend, but would like your votes to be registered, please download the Proxy Voting form, sign and send to Jennie Longbottom. You can nominate someone to act a your proxy, or agree to the Chairman voting for you.
As usual, our AGM day includes a talk and demonstration by one of our members. This year, we are very pleased that Harvey Bradley will be doing the honours. Harvey studied silversmithing at Canterbury College of Art. He left Horsey with ATD in 1966 to start a long career in teaching and pottery. An early interest in Kandinsky shaped teaching ideas whilst the oriental/classical styles of the Leach dynasty influenced the pottery. Recently, searching for new expression, these two strands have come together in simple bowl forms and expressive brushwork; reminiscent of musical chords and variations-not quite synaesthesia but perhaps a close relative to it. The personal language is evolving as new brush and jazz rhythms suggest their unique possibilities. Harvey’s pots are thrown and turned on a Leach style kick wheel.
