|When:||Sunday, , 10:00- 16:00|
|Where:||Mundford Village Hall|
The Anglian Potters Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 14th May 2017 at Mundford Village Hall.
There is no charge for attending the meeting, but please let us know if you are coming – we need numbers for setup.
As usual, the demo at the AGM will be provided by one of our very own members. This year, our guest will be Geoff Lee. Geoff is well know for his workshops at Potters Camp, where he has taught lots of us about using print with ceramics. Since retiring from full time teaching, he has been developing an interest in the combination of ceramics with drawing and printmaking. This has been achieved by completing MAs in ceramics at Lincoln University, printmaking at Northampton University and drawing at Norwich University of the Arts. Geoff is now developing the results of these courses via PhD research at Lincoln where his focus is on the transfer of meaning as contexts change, specifically when domestic ceramics are relayed across what were previously regarded as fixed borders.
He still teaches workshops, mainly in-service training for teachers and for sixth form pupils, but also for adults, mainly in the area of printmaking techniques, many of which are suitable for transfer to the ceramic surface.
Lunch. Bring your own, or join in with the ‘pot luck lunch’. Bring a plate of food to share, enough for four portions, either savoury, salad or cake, put your contribution on the table when you arrive. Cold food only please. We still need volunteers to take the cling film etc. off shortly before lunch and to set up the urns and cups for tea and coffee (so people can help themselves). Cakes will still be served at teatime.
