- I established the pottery in Castle Acre in Norfolk 8
years ago (now known as Castle Acre Studios).
- I produce mainly one-off decorative items, thrown either
in stoneware or porcelain.
- Surface decoration is an important part of the finished
work and various techniques are used to achieve this. Among these, brush
decoration and incising feature prominently but other pots rely on a simple
celedon or crackle glaze with sometimes a burnished metallic rim to add
emphasis and enhance the shape of the form.
- The finished work is fired in a propane gas kiln to a
temperature of 1280c with heavy reduction.
