Wendy Lawrence, uses handbuilding techniques and volcanic glazes to construct forms inspired by eroded rock surfaces.

Originally from Lancashire, she has been based in north Wales for the last 10 years. She is a CPA professional member and regularly exhibits in the UK, USA and europe.

The making processes she employes combine a number of hand-building techniques: coiling, slab-building and working directly from solid lumps of clay. She works both spontaneously and at other times painstakingly carving leather hard clay, attempting to imbue pattern and a sense of erosion.

For more background and examples of her work please visit her website: www.wendylawrenceceramics.com
