We last exhibited at Blackthorpe Barn in 2003. Set in the Suffolk countryside, just off the A14 at junction 45, near Bury St.Edmunds, it is a relaxed and friendly setting that exudes history. The building itself is an old threshing barn dating back to around 1550 and makes an interesting destination in itself.

Our winter 2005 exhibition revealed many new talents, either to Anglian Potters, or the gallery circuit, or indeed both. However, for all their newness, they lacked none of the quality we have come to expect from our established makers. Six months on, we can only expect the standard to rise further. Summer 2006 at Blackthorpe promises to be a feast for the senses.

Funny Faces

If you come at the weekend, why not bring the kids? We will be running a 'funny faces' mug decorating event on both weekends during our stay at Blackthorpe Barns. Children will be able to model their own funny faces onto mugs made by our members. We will then fire them for you to collect a few weeks later. Cost is expected to be about £5 with procedes going to Cancer Research UK.

Directions

Turn off the A14 at J45. Fortunatley J45 has been redesigned since we were last at Blackthorpe, so you can turn off at J45 and head directly the Blackthorpe whichever direction you come from. The route will also be marked with yellow AA signs.
