Sally MacDonell is continually fascinated by people. A great observer of people, she thrives on interaction with others. She explores the human condition by modelling the female form from clay; changing the mood and feeling of a piece by the positioning of a shoulder or hand.

Initially, her figures were smoke-fired but the desire to make outdoor pieces has led her to explore glaze and since 2005 she has made her sculptures in glazed stoneware.
